Emotional Intelligence Workshop

This workshop is for women who are mothers or wish to be mothers.

E-motion = Energy in Motion.

An emotion is energy in your body. It’s a physiological sensation. When it is allowed to be there as a felt sense without being interrupted, it lasts about 90 seconds in your body.

However, the way we talk about and deal with emotions creates a lot of interruptions for them, and causes dissociation or disconnection from the body.

Here are some key ways we interrupt our emotions:

  • Narratives (thoughts and conversations)

  • Suppression / Repression

  • Emotional Activation

Often, the way we were raised has us interrupt our emotions leaving them stuck in our body. If you grew up with parents who told you to “stop crying,” punished you for throwing a tantrum, or invalidated what you were feeling, you probably need to work on this aspect of yourself.

Parents are always doing the best they can with what they have, and a lack of understanding emotional intelligence can have detrimental effects on the way a child grows up to deal with their emotions. You can break this cycle by learning what emotional intelligence really is, developing skills around it, and passing your wisdom on to your children, guiding them through the human experience.

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to be available to any emotional state as it comes up, without losing yourself in it. You allow the emotion to move through your body, without attaching to it with labels and narratives.

This is only avaialble when you bring the body into it and translate the emotion into a felt sense.

It is vital for mothers to practice and develop emotional intelligence - the emotional environment you create for your child is the “make or break” it barometer for their behavioral development process. You can only teach your children emotional intelligence if you’re able to practice and cultivate it yourself first.

In this 75-minute online workshop, we’ll practice embodied emotional intelligence together in community, and learn about why this practice will support you and your little ones’ brain development.

You’ll walk away with the knowledge and tools to support yourself and your children in cultivating emotional intelligence, benefitting you with:

  • Mitigated risk for addiction, attention difficulties, and behavioral and mood disorders

  • More joy in your daily life

  • An increased ability to handle life on life’s terms

  • Access to responding to difficult situations vs. reacting or overreacting

  • Development of emotional maturity and healthier relationships

  • Peace of mind

  • Feeling the fullness of the human experience without being overwhelmed by its intensity
